Guar gum CAS 9000-30-0

Short Description:

Guar gum CAS 9000-30-0

Guar gum is a plant gum that can be extracted from the fruit of the bean tree and guar beans. Guar gum is a perennial shrub that mainly grows along the Mediterranean coast. Guar gum is an annual leguminous plant that mainly grows in desert like areas such as India, Pakistan, and Texas in the United States. It is suitable for growing in areas with large temperature differences between day and night and abundant rainfall. Currently, most of the guar gum used is extracted from guar gum. After the mature guar beans undergo peeling treatment, they are sent to a grinding and processing factory for thermal chemical treatment to separate the guar beans into endosperm flakes, embryos, and skins. Embryos are often used as animal feed with high protein content. The endosperm flakes are processed into guar gum in a grinding and processing plant.

Application:
1. Biological immobilization carrier material: Guar gum can be used for the preparation of immobilized tyrosinase biofilm.
2. Application in the field of controlled drug release: Guar gum is a natural polymer of galactomannan, which is only degraded by bacteria in the colon and is an important candidate material for targeted colon drug release carriers. However, its high water solubility and expansibility lead to gastric drug release, limiting its application.
3. Application in fisheries and environmental protection: Guar gum as a binder added to feed significantly enhances the particle stability and mechanical strength of fish feces, facilitating timely cleaning of feces and reducing the harm to fish populations.
