Physicochemical properties
Appearance: White or light yellow gel-like colloid.
Solubility: freely soluble in water; dispersible in butyl stearate, triolein, and mineral oil.
Stability: It is stable when the pH value is between 4 and 7. When the pH value is less than 4, it decomposes; when the pH value is greater than 7, it decomposes slowly.
It will decompose when heated at high temperature for a long time. Flash point: >93℃.
Danger: Irritating. It is irritating to the skin and eyes.
Animal Toxicology: Oral LD50 for rats: 4700mg/kg.
Ecology: May pose a hazard to the environment, with special attention required for water bodies.
Biodegradability: degradable.

Usage:

2. Compared to sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate has lower toxicity and irritation, making it widely used in personal care products such as shampoos and body washes.
3. Given the irritating nature of ammonium lauryl sulfate, its addition to products that come into direct and prolonged contact with the human body, such as skin care products, should not exceed 1%.
